Dogs are CARNIVORES. Many people believe they are omnivores, but that is UN true. Dogs eat meat and are meant to eat meat. They cannot become vegetarians.

    FEED MEAT!

  3. dobiz_rule says:

dogs are not rabbits and need meat. if you can’t make your own meat based treats go to the store and buy some

add: butter is NOT GOOD for dogs

  4. steffigiraffe says:

How about normal biscuits (flour and butter, no sugar) with cheese and apple in?

Edit (above posts) I’m guessing the asker does usually feed meat but wants to make some treats. No vegetarian would enjoy handling meat. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with feeding a dog meat-free treats. Dogs are not carnivores – not every morsel of food they eat has to be meat.
Home made is MUCH better anyway – most commercial treats contain artificial colourings and sugar, both of which can cause behavioural problems, and they are also baked at much higher temperatures which also isn’t good.
Good for you for making your own treats. It shows how much you care about your dogs!

no dogs aren’t people –they eat meat!

  6. jackattack_007 says:

just because you choose to be a vegetarian, doesn’t mean you should torture your dog by making it be too. If you can’t handle the meat, then go to the store and buy some. They are cheap.

  7. MsJTM says:

YOU may be a vegetarian, but your dog is not. Dogs are carnivores and need meat. Just buy your dog regular meat treats. No need to "handle" meat in this case.

  8. b says:

dogs need meat if you don’t like making treats with meat buy some

  9. Time travler says:

Mix quick cook oatmeal with peanut butter. pat out on a cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes at 350. btw, I certainly hope you don’t make your dog a vegetarian because they absolutely need meat in order to be healthy.

  10. ♥shelter puppies rule♥ says:

    peanut butter cookies:
    1 1/4 c flour
    tbsp baking powder
    1/2- 1 c all natural peanut butter
    splash of water

mix all together, roll out (or just smoosh with your fingers) put on ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 375 for 20 mins or however crispy you would like them.

p.s. a vegetarian diet will kill a dog so please feed him real dog food:)

  11. raven blackwing says:

DOGS EAT MEAT. To force them to eat non is wrong. If you are not able to feed your dog in the right way then give it to some one who will. PETA lies when they say dogs amd cats can be healthy eating a vegetarian diet. One of my best friends in high killed three dogs before she learned this sad fact. I have worked for three vets, have an uncle who breeds hunting dogs and have owned a umber of dogs my self. Never as any of us heard of a healthy veggie diet for dogs. Do not force on your poor dog your life choice.

  12. science chick says:

Why bother? Just feed the dog his dog food with his meat and don’t do extra treats if meat bothers you.
